In the DC market, our success has been fueled by the fact that our candidates are screened to a "Hire Standard." When we opened in 1989 in Washington, DC as a local, woman-owned business, activities were limited to PERMANENT placement of support staff. The lines between Permanent and Temporary functions were clear. And our focus was narrow. Then the job market changed. Our permanent clients asked us to staff their temporary needs with employees from our pool of full time job applicants -- which means that we always have applied a hire standard to every job situation from career professional to short term temp. Today, that standard defines every candidate we represent.

In addition, we look for high levels of integrity, as well as excellent customer service, interpersonal skills and/or exceptional sales skills in every employee we represent. The validity and accuracy of these selection and assessment tests have been well documented by independent industrial/organizational psychologists. All of the surveys we use are valid and non-discriminatory and adhere to the Uniform Guidelines on Employee Selection Procedures as adopted by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the American Psychological Association's Standards for Educational and Psychological Testing, as well as guidelines developed by the Association of Test Publishers. When appropriate, we use the Reid Report as one of our primary tools for finding out if people are as dedicated and ethical as they say they are. Many of our clients prefer to use their corporate AMEX, VISA or MASTERCARD accounts to streamline the billing process. All credit card invoices still carry appropriate hard copy documentation (timesheets, etc.) to facilitate record keeping.
